Best Casual Afternoon Tea
Perfectly located in Portland's Multnomah Village is the lovely Medley Tea House Café. My sisters, two year old daughter and I enjoyed a leisurely afternoon there this Spring.
We sat at a table by the windows in the front of the café, and the large, upholstered chairs were so cozy we felt right at home. We enjoyed selecting our own tea pots and cups which created a casual eclectic look on our table. My sister had pre-ordered two of the Medley Tea Time Platters. We would have had plenty of food with just one platter for three adults, but we love having left-overs :) The sandwiches, scones and sweets were all delicious. We are always fans of the traditional cucumber sandwich, and Medley's cucumber mint did not disappoint.
The café is very charming with a quaint feel, and was not too busy while we were there (just a few other tables) which made it comfortable to bring a small child. We did not have to worry when she wandered around a bit, and the pound cake was her favorite treat keeping her entertained for quite some time :)
Medley is the perfect place to stop for tea or lunch while shopping in Multnomah Village. If you're planning to enjoy their afternoon tea, we recommend making reservations and ordering the tea platters in advance.
